UNION — The Union Family Health Center has added three nurse practitioners.

Carrie Hill, Karen Andruss and Doug Ray have joined the clinic staff part time. All three are on the OHSU School of Nursing faculty at Eastern Oregon University.

Hill received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise. She has also worked at Johns Hopkins and OHSU Hospitals. She was raised in La Grande and enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, golfing and fishing.

Andruss received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Boise State University. She earned the master of nursing and family nurse practitioner credential in 2002 from Oregon Health & Science University.

She has worked at the Baker County Health Department, St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Baker City and Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario. She also has experience in home health. She lives in Halfway with her husband and enjoys hiking and fishing.

Ray is a graduate of OHSU School of Nursing, receiving both his bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. He has been a family nurse practitioner with a clinical focus in pediatrics since 1993. He has lived in La Grande for 24 years and has worked at the La Grande Pediatric Clinic, St. Anthony's Pediatric and Family Clinics in Pendleton. He is married and has three adult children. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, mountain biking and skiing.

All three are nationally certified as family nurse practitioners by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the credentialing arm of the American Nurses Association.

The three are accepting new patients.

Sue Peeples, who has worked at the clinic since it opened, has joined the staff at the Student health center at EOU.

The Union Family Health Center is operated by the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing. The center's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
