LA GRANDE SOFTBALL WINS 2 ON THE ROAD

MILTON-FREEWATER — The La Grande softball girls racked up two more Greater Oregon League wins Tuesday against Mac-Hi.

The Tigers won 8-1, 2-1 to improve to 5-3 in league. They are tied for second place with Baker, a game behind 6-2 Riverside. The top three teams in the Greater Oregon League move on to postseason, with the first and second seeds hosting playoff games.

Meghan Henderson and Jennifer Funkhouser had doubles, while Amanda Marcum had three hits and two RBIs. Des McCoy had two hits, while Danielle Tams had two hits and an RBI.

Megan Caldwell pitched a two-hitter in the opening game win.

In the second game, Henderson had two hits and an RBI. Marcum hit a double and scored a run, while Funkhouser had two hits and a double.

Kylee Lanman drove in the game-winning run with a single in the fifth inning.

The Tigers travel to Hermiston for a non-league doubleheader at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The Tigers return to league play hosting Ontario Saturday.
