LA GRANDE GOLF FIGHTS OFF WIND

PENDLETON — A blustry day did not slow down the La Grande boys golf team at the pre-district tournament in Pendleton Monday.

The Tigers won with a team score of 326 with tournament medalist Todd McAndie leading the way with a 78. Tyler Tucker and Bill Waldrop shot 79s for second overall low scores. Nick Cornford had a 90, while Christian Siltanen had a 93.

In second place was Riverside with 351. Next was Ontario (353), followed by Vale (362), Union (370) and McLoughlin (384).

Union's Josh Smith and Gavin Carman shot 89s. Ronnie Cross had 99. Rudy Turner shot 93 and Micah Hacker had 119.

The Tigers travel to Baker Wednesday for a varsity and JV competition. The Tiger varsity team heads to the Enterprise Invitational Friday.
