IMBLER, JOSEPH BASEBALL SWEEP LEAGUE GAMES

The Imbler Panthers swept Pine-Eagle by scores of 10-3 and 10-4 Saturday to improve their Wapiti League mark to 7-3.

Imbler's Tanner McIntosh was 3-for-4 in the first game with one RBI, a triple, double and single. Alan O'Donald was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Travis Hoskins was 2-for-4.

In the second game, McIntosh was 3-for-4. Chris Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Zach Myers 2-for-4 with three RBI and John McKinnis was 2-for-4.

Imbler plays at Elgin at 3 p.m. today.

Joseph pounds Prairie City

PRAIRIE CITY — Joseph's John Schmidt smacked a home run and Wade Gleasman pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts in Saturday's Wapiti League doubleheader against Prairie City.

The Eagles committed one error on the day. They beat Prairie City by scores of 10-0 and 17-4.

The Eagles combined for 31 hits on the day. They host Imbler at Noon Saturday.

Elgin splits pair with Nyssa baseball

NYSSA — The Elgin Huskies split their Wapiti League doubleheader with Nyssa Saturday.

Elgin won the opener 10-7 before losing the nightcap 6-3.

"The first game was the best our kids played all year," Elgin coach Gordie Simons said.

Simons said the Huskies are playing well.

"Hitting and fielding, defense and hitting — we're becoming better overall," he said.

The heat may have affected the Huskies in the second game.

"We had mental mistakes due to fatigue," Simons said. "It was overall team fatigue. My kids played great."

The Huskies host Imbler at 3 today.
