LG BOYS, GIRLS LEAD 1ST DAY OF DISTRICT

PENDLETON — The La Grande boys and girls lead their respective district after the first day of the golf tournament Monday.

The girls lead the District 7 tournament with a 404 score. Burns is 64 strokes back in second. Heppner is third (495). Riverside is fourth (514).

La Grande's Kelli Greenough led the first day with an 86. Bess Buzzard is second with a 103. Elizabeth Garton is third with a 107 and Elizabeth Esser shot 108 for fourth.

On the boys' side, La Grande had a 308 in their tournament. Baker is 34 strokes back in second. Ontario shot a 347, followed by McLoughlin (364), Riverside (369), Vale (373) and Burns (407).

La Grande's Tyler Tucker shot a 72, followed by Bill Waldrop's 76, Ricky Gloria's 79, Todd McAndie's 81 and Nick Cornford's 86.
