Several shooters from Union County made their way to the recent Oregon Criminal Justice Association spring shooting competition.

Local competitors included Jim Hubbell, Scott Willadsen, Jeff Roberts and Jess Roberts from the Union County Sheriff's Department; Scott Moore from the Oregon State Police in La Grande; and Jared Rogers from the La Grande Police Department.

Moore was the top shooter in the police category, was top shooter overall and a member of the second-place shooting team.

Hubbell was second in the overall police category and picked up a first in the team category. Union County shooters took first- and second-place finishes in team shooting.

First place went to Half Fast Shooters — Hubbell, Jeff Roberts and Jess Roberts.

Second place went to the Glock-Coma team of Moore, Willadsen and Jared Rogers.

The next OCJA scheduled competition is in Albany in the fall with a planned shoot in the spring in Ontario.
