A trio of Eastern Oregon diamond teams had their championship bubbles burst Saturday.

The Baker softball girls, the Grant Union baseball boys and Ontario baseball all played for state championships, but lost.

Baker, the second-place team in the Greater Oregon League, lost 1-0 to Elmira. The Bulldogs, who split four games with La Grande, end their season at 23-4.

Ontario, undefeated in GOL play and the champion of the league, lost to Mazama 4-3 in the 3A baseball state championship. Ontario ends its season at 25-3.

Meanwhile, Grant Union, which was undefeated in Wapiti League play, lost to Regis 8-1. Grant Union ended its season at 29-2.
