Nearly 100 cowgirls and cowboys competed in the American West 4-D Barrel Racing at the 29th Annual Catherine Creek Rodeo Friday evening in Union.

Kelsey Wrightson was leading with the fastest barrel racing time of 17.685 seconds on "Bobbi." Rhonda Espinola, with time of 18.173, was second, while Linda Winslow, with a time of 18.498, was holding down the third slot.

Results will be published in Monday's Observer.

Cove's Kinsey Keagle was crowned Catherine Creek Court Queen prior to the beginning of the rodeo.

The coronation was held in the arena and the barrel racing followed immediately afterward.
