Meanwhile, quarterback Kyle Hook threw for 138 yards and two TDs without an interception, as the Eagles bounced back from a wild loss to Nyssa last week.

In all, Joseph tallied 533 yards of offense.

Gavin Watson had a 90-yard kickoff return for Union, and caught five passes for 62 yards and another touchdown.

WALLOWA WINS, BUT SPAUR LOST FOR SEASON

ADRIAN — The Wallowa football boys erupted for a 40-0 second half to beat Adrian Friday, but afterward, there wasn't much celebrating.

It was a bittersweet win for the Cougars, as they lost one of their top offensive players, Randy Spaur, to a broken leg.

Coach Greg Oveson said Spaur broke both bones in his lower leg on a play just before the end of the half. At the time, Wallowa had just a 34-32 lead, but scored a TD at the end of the half, then shut out the Antelopes the rest of the way en route to an 80-32 win.

Spaur, who had 160 yards of offense in less than a half, was taken to a hospital in Ontario Friday. Oveson described the injury as "pretty ugly."

Oveson said the Cougars kept playing hard even though they were shaken by Spaur's injury.

"That's probably the best defense we've played all season," said Oveson. "I'm proud of the way the kids came back."

In Spaur's absence, Jake Redfield took over the rushing duties and he had an incredible game statistically. He rushed for 377 yards on 23 carries and scored eight touchdowns.

Spaur ran for 113 yards on 10 carries and gained another 47 yards on two catches. Spaur scored two touchdowns.

Wallowa (1-2 in Old Oregon League, 3-2 overall) plays at Prairie City Friday.

IMBLER SHUT OUT BY GRANT UNION

IMBLER — The Grant Union Prospectors shut out the Imbler Panthers 36-0 in Wapiti League football Friday.

Imbler coach Lee Lowe said Grant Union was definitely the better ball club as they did not make mistakes and did everything right.

"They dominated both sides," Lowe said.

The Prospectors gained 329 yards on the ground. Cody Frazier led Grant Union with 18 carries for 121 yards. He scored two rushing touchdowns.

"We just got dominated on both sides of the line," Lowe said.

Lowe said the Panthers were unable to get anything going offensively or defensively.

He said the Prospectors are impressive all-around.

"Hopefully, we'll learn and improve and play better next week," Lowe said.

He said the win is a credit to the Prospectors doing things right.

"We just got mishandled," Lowe said.

Imbler's Justin Volle rushed for 67 yards on 12 carries. Tanner McIntosh made one leaping catch for 30 yards.

The Panthers travel to Enterprise Friday.
