Seven will hopefully be the Eastern Oregon High School Rodeo Clubs lucky number this week.

Thats how many riders will be traveling to the Silverstate International Rodeo in Fallon, Nev., that starts tonight at 7 p.m. and runs through Sunday.

Riders who placed fifth through 10th at the State Finals Rodeo will be competing at the six-day event.

From this area, Kristi Case of Elgin will participate in the barrel racing, breakaway roping and team roping, where she finished 10th in all three events at state. Her team-roping partner is La Grandes Travis Hampton, who will also compete in calf roping.

Garrett and Brandon Evans of Elgin qualified for team roping after finishing ninth at state.

Jared Bain of Haines will be entered in the bull and bareback riding. Bain finished sixth in bareback riding and ninth in bull riding at state.

Bain will also be paired with Sally Brown of Baker City in team roping.

Blake West of Union advanced in saddle bronc and bull riding. West was sixth in saddle bronc and 10th in bull riding at the state finals.
