Jeffrey S. ‘Jeff' Adams

La Grande


Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Adams, 53, of of La Grande, died June 27 in the Veterans Hospital, Walla Walla, after an extended illness.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adams was born April 25, 1951, in Lynwood, Calif. He was the son of William J. and Wanda E. Moore Adams. He was raised and educated in Polson and Flathead Lake, Mont. Mr. Adams served his country during the Vietnam conflict, where he had a three-year tour of duty.

He married Debra Rossi on Sept. 28, 1972, in Fort Hall, Idaho. The couple came to

La Grande in the mid-1970s. While here he had worked as a maintenance supervisor for apartments in La Grande.

He enjoyed auto racing and racing cars, as well as hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by

his wife, Debra of

La Grande; two children, Steven A. Adams of Fort Sill, Okla., and James E. Adams of La Grande; one grandson, of Island City.

His parents and two brothers died earlier.

Frank Dickson

La Grande


A celebration of life for Frank Dickson, who died May 8, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 707 Grandy Ave. near Pioneer Park. Mr. Dickson retired in 1990 from Boise Cascade.

Margaret Racicot

La Grande

Margaret Racicot, 87, died early this morning at a local care center.

Arrangements will be announced later by Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Alice Godsey

Formerly of Cove


A graveside service for Cove native Alice Leah Godsey, 94, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Cove Cemetery.

Mrs. Godsey died in her sleep June 29 in Midvale, Utah, at the home of her granddaughter, Meg Franklin.

Alice was born on Feb. 5, 1910, in Cove, to Delo and Libby Gauthier. She and Chet Godsey were married July 13, 1928, in La Grande. They were longtime residents of Cove.

She is survived by daughters Dorothy Case, Salt Lake City, and Phyllis (Bill) Franklin, Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law Bill and LaVaughn Gauthier, Florence; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters.

Velva Oswald

La Grande

Velva Oswald, 92, of La Grande died Friday at a local care center.

Arrangements will be announced later by Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

H. Eddy Roe

La Grande

The memorial service for H. Eddy Roe, 87, of La Grande will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

The family suggests memorials to the charity of one's choice.

Mr. Roe died June 16 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A full obituary was published earlier.

Maurine Edmunds

Formerly of La Grande


Maurine Alice Edmunds, 84 of Kennewick, Wash., and formerly of La Grande died June 16. Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Edmunds was born Maurine Bramhall Feb. 17, 1920, in Los Angeles. She worked her way through beauty school as a movie extra and a hand model. On March 25, 1944, she married Frank C. Edmunds in Los Angeles. The couple lived in Chico, Calif., where they had a pest-control business and a bridal shop. They retired in 1972 and moved to La Grande, where she had a bridal shop and a yarn shop with her sister, Elaine. The couple recently moved to Kennewick. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing cards and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband of Kennewick; children and their spouses, Gary and Sandy Edmunds of Everett, Wash., Jeff and Peggy Edmunds of La Grande, and Dan and Julie Edmunds of Kennewick; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Myron Bramhall of Billings, Mont., Frances Bramhall of Los Angeles, Elaine Lowdon of Dallas, Ore., and Ward Bramhall of San Diego. A sister, Jean Bramhall died earlier.
