Baker City nearly duplicated its Tuesday win over Pendleton when the two met Thursday.

On Tuesday, Baker edged Pendleton 2-1 to stay perfect in the District 3 Girls Little League Seniors Softball Tournament here at Pioneer Park.

The same thing happened Thursday when Baker needed two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Pendleton 3-2 for the district championship.

The game wasnt decided on offense but on defense, where Pendletons defense was its worst enemy. Pendleton committed eight errors, including three in the pivotal sixth inning and four in the first inning when Baker took a 1-0 lead.

Anna Nirschi pitched a three-hitter against Baker, who was led by Amanda Cribbs two hits.

Two of Pendletons four hits came in the top of the second inning, when Baker committed one of its three errors, leading to Pendletons only two runs.

Pendleton held its one-run lead until Bakers two-run, sixth-inning frame.
