NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING RIGHT-OF-WAY VACATION FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE BY TITLE ONLY

Notice is hereby given in accordance with ORS 271.110, that the La Grande City Council will conduct a Public Hearing during its regular meeting on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, which begins at 6:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. The Hearing is to consider an application filed by George Venn on August 18, 2005, for a Right-of-Way Vacation to vacate all of the Alley, and that portion of First Street lying within and abutting Block 2 B-ST. of the (Original) Town of

Le Grand. The Public Hearing may be continued to the subsequently scheduled, Regular Session of the City Council. The property is situated in the R-2 Medium Density Residential Zone.

Pursuant to Section 33. of the City of La Grande Charter, the following entitled Ordinance is scheduled to be read for the first time by title only at the above-mentioned City Council meeting:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA GRANDE, OREGON, VACATING ALL OF THE ALLEY, AND THAT PORTION OF FIRST STREET LYING WITHIN AND ABUTTING BLOCK 2-B ST. OF THE (ORIGINAL) TOWN OF LE GRAND IN TOWNSHIP 3 SOUTH, RANGE 38 EAST, SECTION 7DD, LA GRANDE, OREGON

The applicable land use regulations are found in Chapter 8, Article 8.10 of the City of La Grande Land Development Code Ordinance Number 3014, Series 2003; and ORS Chapter 271. Failure to raise a specific issue at the Public Hearings precludes appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. A copy of the application and proposed Ordinance are available for review at no cost, with copies supplied at a reasonable cost at the City of La Grande Planning Division, 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. A Staff Report will be available for review seven (7) days before the Hearings at no cost, with copies supplied at a reasonable cost.
