NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY VACATION The City of La Grande Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at its Regular Session on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, which begins at 6:00 p.m. in the La Grande City Hall Council Chambers, 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. The Hearing is to consider an application to vacate the West ten feet of Oak Street lying immediately adjacent to 408 Adams Avenue, in T3S, R38E, Section 6BD, Tax Lots 13400 and 14000, La Grande, Union County, Oregon. The Application was filed by Burger King, represented by Brian Waldrop that was accepted by the La Grande City Council on December 6, 2006. The applicable land use regulations are found in Chapter 8, Section 8.10 of the City of La Grande Land Development Code Ordinance Number 3047, Series 2006. Failure to raise a specific issue at the Public Hearing precludes appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. A copy of the application and all information related to the proposal is available for review at no cost, with copies supplied at a reasonable cost. A Staff Report will be available for review seven (7) days before the Planning Commission Hearing, and can also be supplied at a reasonable cost. The draft ROD details the analysis and selection of preferred and protective remedial options designed to address contaminated environmental media at the UPRR La Grande Rail Yard, located near the center of downtown La Grande, Oregon. The draft SOW outlines the activities that will be performed to implement the ROD. The current Consent Decree on record with the Union County Court may be amended with the SOW once finalized. Current operations at the Rail Yard consist of rail car switching, main line crew change outs, and track maintenance and operations activities. No fueling operations occur at the site. More information concerning site-specific investigations and proposed remedial actions is available by contacting Katie Robertson, DEQ's project manager for this site.
