Great teacher makes a difference

To the Editor:

I am sad and happy to see Jerry Sebastien retiring.

In 1981 Jerry was a teacher at the Hilgard Work Study Camp. Jerry never gave up on me. He pushed and pushed me, knowing I could do it. And I did.

Jerry helped me every day with my studies for my GED, and I did it. I passed all the tests the first time.

I now have been married 23 years and have three kids. And with my GED I’ve worked and paid my bills and have raised a great family.

So thank you, Jerry. This is just one life you have touched.
