Gee, what’s there to do? Seems like more and more that question doesn’t really need to be asked. Every weekend in Union and Wallowa counties is packed with events — and none more so than the upcoming one. La Grande will serve up Crazy Days, Elgin offers the Stampede and Enterprise will hold its second Bowlby Bash in downtown. Each event offers a variety of activities.

In La Grande, the Grande Ronde-A-View car show will run in conjunction with Crazy Days, with events starting Friday. Crazy Days and the car show will fill downtown Saturday with a firemen’s breakfast, classic cars, vendors, sales and activities including a street pole vault competition. And don’t forget the farmers market takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Elgin’s popular Stampede offers four days of fun, beginning with Family Night tonight followed by the bullriding event Friday and PRCA rodeo Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. This is the Stampede’s 65th year, and organizers are continuing to uphold a fine tradition of quality shows.

Up in Wallowa County, Enterprise will celebrate its downtown with the Bowlby Bash. Included will be lots of downtown activities including a soap box derby, which should be a lot of fun. There will also be a dedication of the Fountain of Honor at the courthouse, which honors all Wallowa County veterans.

Elsewhere, Fishtrap kicks off its annual summer event Sunday at Wallowa Lake, and the Blue Mountain Old-Time Fiddlers will be playing at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Emigrant Springs State Park.

One doesn’t have to look far to find fun family entertainment. Enjoy what our communities have to offer!
