IMPORTANT PROGRAMMING INFORMATION

As of September 8, 2011 customers using TV (QAM) tuners/devices not connected to Charter leased equipment may need to set the auto program or auto scan to receive all channels. A recent system upgrade has revised some channel settings requiring your TV/device to auto scan to receive. This change affects the following channels on the channel lineup in La Grande, Island City, Union and Union County, OR; KPTV HD - FOX AND KPDX HD - MyNetworkTV.
These changes will not result in a modification of our current rates. These changes will affect Charter customers in the following areas: La Grande, Island City, Union and Union County, OR, however, may not be available in all areas. Union County and Forest Capital Partners will be executing the harvest plan on the Mt. Emily Recreation Area (MERA) for the 2011 logging season starting on or about August 1st. Logging traffic will use Owsley Canyon Road. Areas of  harvest will include property to the North and East of the Trails Unit. Public  safety is the utmost priority during these harvesting operations. Union County will be closing portions of MERA to public access during the active logging operations. This will include but not be limited to portions of trail #9 and Mt. Emily Road. Areas will be re-opened as soon as possible following completion of harvest. We apologize for this closure, but Union County and Forest Capital Partners feel it is the best way to insure public safety. We anticipate that all 2011 harvesting operation will be finished by October of this year.

PUBLIC NOTICE
ORDINANCE CONSIDERATION
The Union County Board of Commissioners meeting in regular session on Wednesday, August 17 will consider at 9:45 a.m. the adoption of Ordinance 2011-05, IN THE MATTER OF AN ORDINANCE REGULATING FUEL DISPENSING FOR THE UNION COUNTY AIRPORT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The meeting will be held in the Joseph Annex Conference Room, 1106 K Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. Interested citizens may appear and offer comments on the ordinance. Copies of the draft ordinance may be obtained from the Union County Commissioners Office at 1106 K Avenue, La Grande.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Union County Board of Commissioners are considering the following projects for funding under Title III of P.L. 110-343:
• Union County Search and Rescue - Uniform Request ($10,000) Category 2 Search, Rescue, and other Emergency Services
• Union County - Union County SAR Coordinator ($20,000) Category 2 Search, Rescue, and other Emergency Services
As required by P.L. 110-343, the County will be accepting comments on the proposals until September 22, 2011. The project applications are available for review by contacting the Union County Commissioners Office, 1106 K Avenue, La Grande, 963-1001.
