The truth about pit bulls

To the Editor:

I’m sorry that Larry Glaze feels the need to perpetuate the falsehood that all pit bulls are dangerous.

I don’t appreciate the fact that he seems to think that the people who work at the animal shelter and our animal control officers have no common sense

Pit bull nurses fawn

To the Editor:

In response to the letter regarding pit bull dogs in the Oct. 24, Observer, my family and I have had pit bulls for years.

The dogs were always raised to be loving and well-mannered family dogs.

One year our female pit had a larger litter of puppies and was nursing her puppies. Our neighbor brought over a fawn who had lost her mother.

The fawn nursed on our female, Ginger.

I have pictures I took to prove my statement.

My whole family was witness to the loving care Ginger gave the fawn.

Appreciate bridge work

To the Editor:

To all who helped with the building of East Bryan Little Creek Bridge, we appreciate your work.

We appreciate the city administrator, the mayor and council and the great Union city workers for their part in getting the OK for the new bridge. We appreciate the Grande Ronde Model Watershed and the county bridge crew, which did an outstanding job. Their work was very professional. They worked safe and got the job done in record time. Each worker knew what to do and it was done. The paving crew came in and the job was finished within two days.

We’re grateful to the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show for letting us go through their property and saving many miles of travel time for us.

Congratulations for a job well done.
