Dec. 17 — Darrell “Terry” Van Leuven, celebration of life, 10 a.m., Loveland Funeral Chapel

Raymond Lee Rimbey, 91, of La Grande, died Dec. 10 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A graveside service with military honors will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Island City Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel prior to the service on Friday.

Darrell “Terry” Van Leuven, 57, of Baker City and formerly of La Grande, died Dec. 9 at his home. A celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 17 at Loveland Funeral Chapel. A viewing will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Loveland Funeral Chapel. A complete obituary will be available later.

Robert Cecil “Bob” Chrisman, 73, of Wallowa, died Dec. 4 at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Burial was held Dec. 10 at the Bramlet Cemetery at Wallowa. A reception followed.

He was born June 26, 1938, in Enterprise to Lottie A. McCrae and Cecil M. Chrisman. He graduated from Wallowa High School in 1956, received his bachelor of arts from Whitman College in 1962 and received his master of arts degree from Walla Walla College in 1968. Bob played basketball at Whitman and was a four-year lettermen. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity while attending Whitman College.

On Nov. 24, 1961, he married Linda L. Johnson. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

He started his career as a teacher at Garrison Junior High School in Walla Walla, Wash., in 1969. That year, he became vice principal at Ellensburg High School in Ellensburg, Wash. In 1972, he joined his family’s insurance and real estate business, Coleman & Chrisman Insurance, in Wallowa, which was founded by his father. He spent many years as an insurance agent and real estate broker.

He retired in 1997, selling the business to his sons.

Bob served on many local boards and committees including Wallowa City Council and Wallowa County Planning Commission. He was the first president of the Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce and one of the founders of the Wallowa Lions Club.

Bob had numerous hobbies and interests. He enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, sports, camping and spending time at his cabin at Wallowa Lake. He especially enjoyed conversation and spent hours talking to friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, of Wallowa; son, Tony, his wife, Julie, and their two children of Wallowa; son, Doug, wife, Stephanie, and their four children of Wallowa; sister, Susan Chase of Grass Valley; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
