Santa early

To the Editor:

In this time of woe for our country, it is encouraging to experience folks who rise above it to make the most of the “Christmas spirit.”

My wife and I went to our usual coffee hangout Sunday.

She handed out several dozen homemade cookies to our friends and I sat to make small talk.

Never let it be said that Santa is a slacker and never think that because you are over 70, that Santa does not know who you are and where you are!

I am here to tell you he, his wife and elves are well and are getting an early start as at least two dozen customers in the coffee establishment Sunday will attest.

Lo and behold, Santa and his wife strode through the door Sunday with a “Ho, ho, ho!” and began reading a letter addressed to Santa by a certain person. I about fell out of the booth as I recognized it was my name on the letter!

Santa then had two strong elves go outside and bring in a large wrapped box that I opened.

Lo and behold, there was the most beautiful power excavator a person could wish for!

Thank you, Santa!
