Helen M. Crossen

La Grande

1921-2012


Helen Marie Crossen, 90, of La Grande, died Jan. 8.

Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in La Grande. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen was born June 8, 1921, to William E. and Edith (Isbell) Krause in Seattle. Her family moved from Seattle to La Grande where Helen graduated from La Grande High School and attended Eastern Oregon State College. On May 31, 1942, Helen married Ray Crossen. Helen supported her husband in the ranching business until his death on Jan. 31, 1994.

Helen enjoyed horseback-riding and scenic drives. She and her family participated in many trail-riding and pack trips. She was a member of the La Grande Mavericks Riding Club and was active in First Christian Church.

Family members who survive Helen include two daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Dave Larson of Elgin and Carmen and Joe Mecleary of Midpines, Calif.; her sister and spouse, Arloenn and Ivan French of Indiana; three grandchildren; five great-grand children; and four nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; and her parents, Edith Worley and William E. Krause.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church or the La Grande Mavericks Riding Club in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St., La Grande OR 97850.

 



Bobbye L. Robinson

Union

1944-2012

Bobbye LeAnn Robinson, 67, of Union, died Jan. 9 at Grande Ronde Hospital with her family by her side. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the Union Cemetery. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Bobbye was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Lawrence, Kan. Her parents were Robert McCoy and Mable Green McCoy. She graduated from high school in San Pablo, Calif. On Dec. 8, 1979, she married Stan Robinson.

Bobbye enjoyed working with crafts and miniatures for doll houses. She was a quilter and crocheted afghan quilts.

Surviving are her husband, Stan; three children and their spouses, Robin and Craig George of Union, Kara Johnson of Fairview and Kim and Dave Locken of Walla Walla, Wash.; sister, Shari McCoy of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabel McCoy.
