Retha Bowman

La Grande

 

A memorial service for Retha Bowman, who died Jan. 21, will begin at 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at First Christian Church in La Grande. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Retha was 93 and lived in  La Grande.

 


Jeanne Gilstrap

Cove

1949-2012

 

Jeanne Gilstrap, 83, of Cove, died Jan. 22 at Grande Ronde Hospital. No services are planned at this time.

Jeanne was born Sept. 4, 1928, in La Grande to James Forrest Scroggin and Janie Minerva Andrews Scroggin. 

She married Roderic Warren Gilstrap on Aug. 28, 1949.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Rod; and four children, Nancy Ream and her husband, Tom, of Cordova, Tenn., Susan Olliffe and her husband, Jake, of Anacortes, Wash., Ted Gilstrap of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Warren Gilstrap of Cove; her sister, Marilyn Brown; and brother-in-law, Dwight Gilstrap; seven grandchildren; and four nephews and one
niece.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Janie Scroggin; and her brother, Charles Scroggin.

In lieu of flowers, the Gilstrap family requests that donations be made to the Grande Ronde Hospice in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 15080 Fourth St., La Grande, OR 97850.

 


Anber K. Larimore

La Grande

1932-2012

 

Anber Kay Larimore, 79, of La Grande, died Jan. 2 at Grande Ronde Hospital. No services are planned at this time. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Anber was born June 2, 1932, in Mesa, Ariz., to Karl King Kenner and Lucille Victoria (Schell) Kenner. Her father’s occupation as a sheep shearer and logger took Anber and her family to many places throughout the Midwest and west coast.

They lived for several years in Fossil before moving to The Dalles where Anber graduated from high school.

In 1952, Anber married Henry Richelderfer and they moved to Wasco. Anber and Henry later divorced. In 1968, she married Larry Larimore. Larry and Anber owned a bar in Modesto, Calif., before moving to La Grande where Larry died in 2001.

Anber is survived by three children and their spouses, John and Debbie Richelderfer of The Dalles, Leesa and Stanley Scrivner of Modesto and Karl and Cindy Richelderfer of Wasco; five stepchildren, Fay Bently of Tillamook, Susan Larimore of Netarts, James Larimore of Oregon, Phyllis Sisco of Beaver and Judith Larimore of Tillamook; and 24 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents, Karl and Lucille;  brother, Doug Kenner; and her daughter, Leslye Richelderfer.
