Neva Alice Trump




Neva Alice Trump, 83, a lifetime resident of Elgin, died March 18 at her home.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Elgin Community Center.

Neva was born on Sept. 12, 1928, the daughter of Garrett and Ethel (Baker) Rysdam in La Grande. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1946.

On Aug. 12, 1947 she married Lloyd C. Trump in Boise, Idaho. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1990.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, hunting, fishing and yardwork, especially her flowers. She loved spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Kathy and Mike Southwick of Elgin and Jim and Donna Trump of Elgin; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally Marie Trump, three brothers and one grandson, Todd Trump.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Lung Association or the Elgin Ambulance in care of Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande, 97850.


Scott Crow




Scott Crow, 47, of Wallowa died March 10. A memorial service was held March 17 at Wallowa Christian Church. Private burial will be held at Bramlet Cemetery in Wallowa later. Bollman Funeral Home of Enterprise was in charge of the arrangements.

Scott was born May 30, 1964, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise, one of three children of Hubert and Dolores Crow.

He graduated from Wallowa High School in 1982 and began his logging career soon after graduation at the age of 18. 

He had a great love of the outdoors, and in addition to working in the forest all week, he loved spending time on property north of Wallowa and also at the Snake River on weekends when weather permitted.

Survivors include a son, Tyler Crow and his wife, Tia, of Albany; daughter, Alexandra Joya and her husband, Jake, of Baumholder, Germany; mother and step-father, Dolores and Bob Smith of Wallowa; sister and brother-in-law, Rene’ and Joe Graham of Boise, Idaho; brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Wendy Crow of Imbler; step-sister, Janet Robirts and husband, Nick, of Clarkston, Wash.; step-brother, Kevin Smith and wife, Kristin, of Fairfax, Va.; step-sister, Sheila Kent and husband, Bob, of Jamison, Pa.; step-brother, John Smith and his wife, Tara, of Post Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren; numerous cousins; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Crow in 2002.
