Tigers dropped by Weiser

WEISER, Idaho — Weiser used a powerful run game to throttle the La Grande High School football team 83-14 Friday in non-league play.

The Wolverines rushed for 452 yards while totaling 483 total yards in the game.

La Grande had 217 total yards, including 133 on the ground.

Flint Hickman found the end zone twice in the 28-point first quarter.

Hickman then returned an interception 19 yards for a touchdown while Weiser built a 49-0 lead at halftime.

The Tigers didn’t score until midway through the fourth when Jared Rogers punched it in from one yard out.

Jobin Reed then scored from seven yards out with a couple minutes left in the game.

Justin Roberts led the Wolverines with 157 yards rushing on 11 carries, while Austin Grothaus had 127 yards on six attempts.

Hickman finished with 82 yards on eight carries, and quarterback Brady DeYoung completed both of his passes for 30 yards.

Ryan Ross led the LHS offense with 87 yards rushing on 12 carries. Rogers had 67 yards.

Tyson Wicklander completed two of seven passes for two yards and an interception, while Brandon Dall was three for five for 82 yards.

La Grande is now 0-3 and will host Pendleton Friday at 7 p.m. at Community Stadium.

The Bucks (0-3) lost to Milwaukie 33-31 Friday.
