Lady Tigers sweep Mac-Hi

MILTON-FREEWATER — The La Grande High School volleyball team remained unbeaten in the Greater Oregon League Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory over McLoughlin.

The Lady Tigers won 25-6, 25-15 and 25-12.

Madison Elliott was 20 for 21 serving, finished with 14 assists, five digs and three kills.

Denise Comfort was 12 for 12 serving with 10 kills and three digs, while Kendall Kirkland had 13 assists along with a perfect 19-for-19 serving performance.

Breanna Partney had seven kills and five digs, Olivia Trotter added six kills and Lauren Mills finished with three.

“It was a good serving night for us,” coach Melinda Becker said.

“My setters did a nice job of getting the ball to my hitters. We did a good job of responding back.”

LHS is now 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the GOL. McLoughlin drops to 2-1 in the GOL.

La Grande will play host to Ontario Thursday night at 6 p.m. for the Lady Tigers’ annual Pink Night.

All proceeds will be donated to a local family who lost a relative to cancer.
