ATHENA — Union/Cove made it look like a fun run Saturday as they picked up easy wins in the Eastern Oregon 2/1A Invite.

Wearing their Cove singlets, the boys took the first seven places in their race. The girls did almost the same.

In both divisions, the Union/Cove squads were the only teams with five runners, giving them the team victories.

Ethan Black won the boys race in 19:01.8, while Kenneth Sipp was second in 19:02.1, and followed in third by Riley Sheehy (19:12.1).

Daniel Colton came in fourth with a time of 19:34.8, while Samuel O’Reilly (fifth, 19:46.1), Cory Andrews (sixth, 19:46.1) and Zach Wyllie (seventh, 20:07.0) followed him across the line. Chase Stewart came in 11th with a time of 21:06.7.

For the girls, the Union/Cove co-op was just too much.

McKenzie Evans won the race in 22:03, while Katriel O’Reilly was one second back in second place and Lynn Shoemaker came in third (22:28.3).

Stormy Bullard led a pack of Lady Cats across the line with her sixth-place finish (23:05.1). Hannah Brazil (seventh, 23:10.1), Elly Wells (eighth, 23:46.5), Sarah Brazil (ninth, 23:54.5) and Alexandra Griffiths (10th, 24:58.6) rounded out the top 10 finishers.

Kendra Hackwith placed 12th (26:02) ahead of Dani Noble (16th, 32:09.1) and Molly DelCurto (18th, 37:03).
