HELIX — The Union Lady Cats swept through Helix/Griswold Tuesday night.

UHS won 25-4, 25-13 and 25-16.

“We really wanted to work on serve placement tonight,” coach Mendy Clark said.

“We took a lot of chances serving and we learned a lot from those.

“A lot of the girls hit their target areas.

“We wanted to push their limits and challenge them in game situations.”

Bayly Poor had 11 kills on 11 hits and was “flawless at the net,” according to her coach.

Viki McCabe had eight kills and Keesha Sarman was seven for eight serving.

With the non-league victory Union improves to 14-7 overall this season.

The Lady Cats will get back into Blue Mountain Conference action Thursday night when they play host to Pilot Rock at 5 p.m.

The Rockets are 3-17 overall and 2-11 in the BMC. Union is 9-3 in conference.

The match is Union’s annual Pink Night, and fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.
