LHS finishes 9-0 GOL season

MILTON-FREEWATER — The La Grande High School volleyball team finished its second consecutive undefeated Greater Oregon League season with a 3-0 sweep of McLoughlin Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers (16-3, 9-0) won 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 for their 18th consecutive GOL win dating back to last season.

“It’s great,” coach Melinda Becker said.

“It’s nice to go undefeated. I’m proud of the way the girls finished and it’s great to get a the win.”

Madison Elliott was 13 for 14 serving Tuesday with one serving ace. She also tallied 22 assists and two kills.

Olivia Trotter was 16 for 17 at the service stripe with one ace, nine digs and seven kills, while Denise Comfort had 16 kills, eight digs and was 11 for 12 serving.

LHS will play at Vale Thursday in a non-league game to finish the regular season.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host a playoff game Nov. 3, but the opponent is still to be determined.
