Stack, Sorensen earn weekly volleyball honors

Eastern Oregon University volleyball student-athletes Stefani Sorensen and Karly Stack were selected as the Red Lion hitter and setter of the week on Monday.

For the second time this season Sorensen (Camas, Wash.) was selected as hitter of the week.

Sorensen recorded 40 Kills in three matches, averaging 3.3 kills per game with a .372 attack percentage.

She had a team-high 21 kills in the Mountaineers’ five-set win over Concordia and 15 kills in a win over Warner Pacific.

Sorensen, a sophomore, has 274 kills in 26 matches this season and is averaging 3.22 kills per set.

Stack won the honor of setter of the week, as she guided the Mountaineers to a perfect 3-0 week. 

Stack (Asquith, Saskatchewan, Canada) recorded 89 assists, as EOU increased their win streak to eight games.

The junior had 39 assists in the win over the Knights, then added 33 assists against the Cavaliers. 

Stack has 458 assists this season with an average of 6.11 assists per game. She also has 148 digs this season.

Sorensen, Stack and teammates will be in action Friday and Saturday, as EOU hosts Oregon Institute of Technology Friday at 7 p.m and Southern Oregon Saturday at 5 p.m.
