Union County will pay homage to its Armed Forces veterans in a big way Sunday with the annual Veterans Day parade in downtown La Grande.

Entries will line up for the procession beginning about 10 a.m., at the corner of Adams Avenue and Hemlock Street. The parade, led by a color guard from the VFW’s High Valley Post in Union, will start west on Adams at 11 a.m., finishing at Adams and Fourth Street.

This year’s Grand Marshal and Grande Marshallette are Jon and Jodi Marsh of local American Legion Post 43. Jon Marsh is a past American Legion state commander, while Jody is a past state auxiliary president.

As always, Post 43 will host a spaghetti feed following the parade. The dinner is free for American Legion members, $3.50 for others.

So far, the parade has 37 entries and more are welcome.
