Cheryl Anne Graham

Cheryl Anne Graham, 65, of Union died at home in the arms of her loving husband, Earl, on Dec. 4.

Cheryl was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Worland, Wyo. She lived in many places while growing up, including The Dalles, Hermiston, Union and Pendleton. She attended high school in Union, Pendleton and Hermiston. She was involved in 4-H most of her life and volunteered many hours to the Union Pitchforks 4-H Club, which Earl and Cheryl have led since their marriage in 1964. She was also very involved with the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show and volunteered her time for many years.

Cheryl was an active member of the Church of Christ in La Grande where she taught Sunday school classes and volunteered for many programs within the church. She had a love for all animals and enjoyed working with them. She treasured time spent working on the family dairy, as well as raising sheep, hogs and chickens over the years. In her younger years she spent her spare time riding, training and showing horses.

She loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and picking huckleberries. She loved to garden and canned many fruits and vegetables each year to keep the shelves of their beautiful cellar full of canned goods from their garden and fruit trees. She was a member of the Eastern Oregon Miners and Prospectors and enjoyed prospecting with Earl, David and their friends. She took pride in cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her grandsons especially loved her cooking and always opened the cupboards and fridge every time they came over.

She was preceded in death by her father, John William Ritchie, and her mother Doris Edmonds. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Eldridge Earl Graham of Union; sister Kaye Leaton Land of Delhi, La., son David Graham of Union; daughter Lory Graham of Union; and three grandsons.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Church of Christ at 2107 Gekeler Lane in La Grande.

Contributions may be made to the Union County 4-H Leaders Association for the “Cheryl Graham Memorial Fund,” 10507 N. McAlister Road, Room 9, La Grande, OR 97850.
