EOU women stall Jimmies, 76-62

 Mounties meet Davenport in quarterfinals Saturday
 
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The EOU women made it 27 wins in a row Friday morning with a 76-62 victory over Jamestown College (N.D.)  in the second round of the NAIA Women's Div. II National Basketball Tournament.
The victory moved the Mountaineers with their 33-2 record into the quarterfinals Saturday at 11 a.m. against the Davenport (Mich.) Lady Panthers. The Panthers moved into their quarterfinal berth with wins over Colege of St. Mary (96-59) and Cardinal Stritch (66-60).
EOU moved out to a big lead in the first half, but the Jimmies made a run back at the Mountaineers in the second half, cutting the score differential to single digits.
Brooke Randall led the Mounties in scoring with 23 points, including 15 coming from the free throw line in 17 tries. Nicole Redd had 17 and Korrie Bourn put in 11 points.
The Jimmies (27-7) were led by Bridget Schuneman's 17 points, while Hannah Steele put in 13 and Carly Jensen finished with 11 points. The Jimmies lost three players to fouls in the final minutes, whith Schuneman, Steele and Abler Ramblo all being force to the bench with five fouls in the final minutes.
