Ed Scott, 60, of Lostine, was cited for first degree animal neglect, an A-misdemeanor, Friday.

According to Wallowa County Sheriff Steve Rogers, the citation and ongoing investigation stem from a search warrant conducted due to the condition of Scott’s cattle.

The cattle were seized by the sheriff’s office and are now being taken care of by the county.

Scott has faced animal neglect charges several times over the past seven years.

In 2007, a case of “livestock at large” was dismissed, as was a first degree animal neglect charge in 2012, and a charge of second degree animal neglect, a B misdemeanor, in 2010.

Scott was convicted of one charge of leaving an animal carcass untended on his property in 2006.
