Ila Carol Huff

La Grande, 1915-2013

Ila Carol Huff, 98, of La Grande, died March 10 at her residence. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Lower Cove Cemetery.

Ila was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Baker City to Eldridge and Elma (Hull) White. She attended school in Baker. Ila married Ted Huff in 1954.

Ila owned greenhouses and grew flowers for shipping. She was a member of the DAR. Ila enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Huff.

 Robert L. Jurgensen

La Grande, 1938-2013

Robert L. Jurgensen, 74, of La Grande, died March 4 at St. Luke’s hospital in Boise, Idaho, due to complications following a cardiac pacemaker surgery. His family has requested a private gathering, and his remains will be sent to family members in Iowa.

Known as Bob, he was born Dec. 2, 1938. One of 10 children, he grew up in Iowa. Bob loved to work, tell jokes, socialize, enjoy a good meal and help others. He mastered many trades and could build or repair anything. Bob was working on projects up until his passing.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Gracie A. Jurgensen; five children; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Brylynne Saige Bushman

La Grande, 2013-2013

 Brylynne Saige Bushman, infant daughter of Joel and Carrie Bushman of La Grande, died March 2 at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho. No public services are planned.

 Brylynne was born Feb. 28 in Boise. She is survived by her parents and her brother and sister, Keller and Brenna Bushman.

MaryAnne Neer

La Grande, 1935-2013

MaryAnne Neer, 77, of La Grande, died March 9 at Grande Ronde Hospital with her family at her side. A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. April 27 at 1601 ½ X Ave., La Grande.

MaryAnne was born Dec. 2, 1935, in La Grande to Marion and Rachel (Lewis) Bach. She grew up in La Grande and graduated from
La Grande High School.

MaryAnne married George Neer and they later divorced. She enjoyed sewing, decorating her home, traveling and entertaining her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pauline Beickel.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Brenda Neer of La Grande; daughter, Sheila Romine of La Grande; sister, Joan McGee of Eugene; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annette M. Earle

La Grande

Annette M. Earle, 47, of La Grande, died March 12 at her home. A full obituary will be published at a later time. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory will be handling the arrangements.


 Judy K. Brock

Enterprise

Judy K. Brock, 70, of Enterprise, died March 10 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A full obituary will be published at a later date. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wallowa Assembly of God Church. A potluck lunch will follow. For potluck information, contact Marti Spar at 541-398-0218.  Dorothy V. Beedle

Formerly of La Grande

Dorothy V. Beedle, 84, formerly of La Grande, died March 10 at her daughter’s home in Portland. A full obituary will be published at a later date. Crown Memorial Center of Portland is in charge of arrangements.


 Thomas F. Whitney

La Grande, 1946-2013

Thomas “Tommy” Floyd Whitney, 66, of La Grande, died March 10 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. tomorrow, March 14, at the Center for Human Development, 2301 Cove Ave., La Grande. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Tommy was born July 21, 1946, to Robert E. and Beverly J. (Flanagan) Whitney in Bend. Oregon has always been his home.

Tommy was employed at New Day Enterprise for 18 years. He enjoyed music, holiday festivals, Max Square concerts, car rides, coloring and eating in restaurants. He was a fan of the Special Olympics and liked to bowl and run track.

The case managers and caregivers at CHD contributed greatly to his life, and he enjoyed CHD activities such as dances, dinners, camping trips and barbecues.
