PILOT ROCK — The Union/Cove baseball team went 2-1 at the Rocket Robin Tournament this weekend.

The Bobcats defeated Pilot Rock (5-4) and Waitsburg-Prescott (Wash.) 7-1, but fell to Kennedy (18-7).

“Overall we played pretty good ball,” Union/Cove head coach Greg Poor said.

“Our pitching staff did real well for playing three games in two days. And our defense is picking up.”

Poor said that Ty Coon had two home runs on the weekend, while both Dalton Opie and Brazen Wellington went deep once.

On the mound, Kaleb Poor finished with 12 strikeouts in the win over Waitsburg-Prescott (Wash.).

The Bobcats will be back in action Friday in Ontario at the Treasure Valley Invitational.
