Graveside services for Douglas Michael Leonard, 37, will be at Grandview Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday. Doug died at his residence in Bellevue, Wash., on Oct. 3, 2012. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Nancy Jean Eggert

La Grande


Nancy Jean Eggert, 63, of La Grande, died at her caregiver’s home in La Grande on April 23 of complications from cancer A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in 

La Grande at 8 a.m. Friday. A family memorial will be held in Wyoming at a later date.

Nancy was born Nov. 21, 1949, in Rawlins, Wyo., to her parents, Wilbert Francis and Helen Johanna (Sannes) Eggert. She lived in Wyoming as well as Grand Junction, Colo., and Southern California before retiring to La Grande in 2001. Nancy graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, Calif., in 1968. She first met Michael Eggert in Grand Junction, and they were married in California, where they started their family. They were later divorced.

Nancy was employed with the Pacific Bell Telephone Co. for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed dancing and jewelry making. She liked to go 4X4ing in the desert. However, her greatest enjoyment was being with and loving her grandchildren

Nancy is survived by two children, Jason Eggert of
La Grande; Tracy Tiernan and her husband, Michael of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers and their wives, Terry and Tulip Titus of Casper, Wyo., and Tom and Starla Titus of Paysen, Arizona; four grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Titus; her father, Wilbert Titus and her former husband, Michael Eggert, who died in 2008.

George ‘Bill’ Rynearson

La Grande


George William “Bill” Rynearson, 82, a lifetime resident of La Grande, died April 17 at a local care facility.  

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery.  

Bill was born April 14, 1931, the son of George William Sr. and Ethel F.
(Sweeney) Rynearson in
La Grande. He graduated from La Grande High School, and on June 26, 1949, he married Martha Jean Bush. He owned and operated the City Garbage Service for many years and had his own excavating business while ranching the family property on Blackhawk Trail. 

He was a member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed activities at the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and loved fishing, especially with his family at Morgan Lake. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Rynearson of La Grande; son, Dave Rynearson of La Grande; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Phyllis Rynearson of Dallas, Texas; and other relatives. 

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Michael Rynearson; and a sister, Frances Rynearson.

Memorials may be made to the La Grande American Legion or the American Diabetes Association in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St. in La Grande.
