Defenders of Constitution win gun control battle

To the Editor:

The 2013 battle of the gun control war is over, and the defenders of the Constitution have won. But we have won only this battle. The enemies of the Constitution are alive and well, and constantly plotting to overthrow the Constitution that a lot of us have sworn to defend, against all enemies foreign and domestic. Some of these domestic enemies are the president, vice president, and our own senators, Merkley and Wyden, who consistently voted with those senators determined to undermine our Constitution, such as Feinstein, Schumer and Manchin.

I fought them by uploading the truth about gun types, universal background checks, the unconstitutionality of universal gun registration, the unconstitutionality of banning semi-automatic weapons, the need for a heavily armed populace to deter foreign invaders, and I endlessly flooded the Internet for several months with these truths whenever and wherever I could. This technique spread the word about what was true and about the threat against the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which codifies our right to bear arms without infringement.

The truth stood on its own. All that was needed was enough voters to be reminded of the threat against them and the nation, and for that reminder to move them to action. But this was only one battle, and the enemies of the Constitution have sworn to relentlessly continue the war. I did my best in this battle, but I am old, and tired, and must now pass the fight on to a younger, stronger generation. And that is you.

You won’t be alone. A lot of us can help you, counsel you and advise you, especially retired soldiers from the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Please take over the upcoming battles, and persevere to the end of the war, in patriotism and final victory. Gird yourselves with the truth, and arm yourselves with the skills to fight Internet warfare, keep your lives and your guns clean and well maintained, and stand up in public and private and speak out for the rule of law and the Constitution. Especially stand up against our elected leaders when you see them lie to us and sell us out to foreign and domestic enemies.

Someone once wrote, “Politicians who fear an armed public, should.” Someone else once wrote, a long time ago, “By their fruits you shall know them.” No matter what a politician says, it is what he does that identifies him as a friend or foe. Watch the politicians closely and you will see whether or not they keep their sworn oath, “to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic.” If they don’t, then by all that’s holy, vote them out of office or impeach them.
