Vote for Baird, experience on school board

To the Editor:

Lori is an active Union community member for 12 years. She is currently on the Union School Budget Committee, as well as past PTA president for three years. The Union School Board needs informed and dedicated representation in this time of great fiscal challenge.

Lori and her husband, Ed, are dedicated to Union schools and  the City of Union. They understand the importance of public education as they raised children from kindergarten through 12th grade at Union schools. We the Union community members need someone like Lori who lives and supports all levels of the community. Lori has given countless volunteer hours to support what she believes is important.

Lori received her B.S. in business administration from University of Montana and will finish her MBA from Eastern Oregon University in December. She has the educational background and holds high expectations for student achievement. She will courageously and with common sense ask appropriate questions and seek answers for the betterment of all students. Lori understands the meaning of teamwork and will work hard to be a team player with other board members when they address crucial needs facing our children.

My husband, Roger, and I have lived in Union for more than 30 years and have raised two daughters who attended Union schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. We are community members who value the importance of our local schools and what they have to offer all children.

As a member of this community, I understand the importance of quality leadership in an organization. Lori has the education background, current experience in the school and the common sense to do what is right. She will work hard for your children and will give to the community 100 percent.

Do the right thing and vote for Lori Baird as your next school board member.
