Update: Name of injured construction worker released

Police have released the name of a construction worker who fell from the Lower Perry Bridge Wednesday night. Karl D. Willhite, of Klamath Falls, was working on constructing a wooden platform when he fell 23 feet, according to the Union  County Sheriff's Office. Willhite landed on rocks and was transported by Life Flight to Walla Walla, Wash.  with unknown injuries.

 

Willhite is employed with Oregon State Bridge Construction out of Stayton, which was subcontracting with Oregon Mainline Paving for an ODOT-funded project at the site of the accident.
