CONDON — The Wallowa football team lost a non-league game to Condon-Wheeler 62-30 Friday. The Cougars (0-2) had three players out with the flu.

The highlight for the Cougars was Chandler Burns, who rushed for 227 yards, had 116 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Spencer Shelton had 151 passing yards, 50 rushing yards and a score.

"For being shorthanded and as young as we are, we had some bright spots," Wallowa head coach Bill Robb said.

Wallowa has a bye next week and will return to action Sept. 27 for an Old Oregon League game against Joseph at 2 p.m.
