SALEM — The union for service workers at Oregon's public universities says it has reached a tentative agreement with the university system.

Local 503 of the Service Employees International Union says on its website the agreement was reached at 2:30 a.m. Thursday and that it includes cost-of-living and faster step-pay increases.

The union represents 4,300 workers such as cooks, custodians and nurses, including 120 who work at Eastern Oregon University.
