Panthers lock up top district spot

IMBLER — The Imbler football team locked up the Special District 4 title with a 57-14 win over Cove Friday on senior appreciation day.

With the win, the Panthers improved to 4-0 in district and 7-1 overall, and held on to the top spot the the OSAA state rankings.

The win keeps Imbler a game ahead of Powder Valley in the district standings with one game left in the district schedule. The Panthers own the head-to-head tie breaker. 

Senior quarterback Kyle Johnson led the attack through the air, on the ground and on defense. 

Known more for his play behind center, Johnson menaced the Cove offense with a pair of interceptions.
