Senior Hayden Bershenyi was recently selected as the Elgin Lions’ Student of the Month.

Bershenyi has been a student in the Elgin district for six years. Prior to that, he attended school in Glenwood Springs, Colo. Speaking of Union County, Bershenyi said he liked the rural area and the woods.

“I like the quiet,” he said, “and I like how everybody knows each other.”

Bershenyi’s love of the area fits his favorite activities including riding horses, hunting, and riding four-wheelers.

“I like doing agricultural types of things,” Bershenyi said, “and I might go into the field of agriculture, but I’m kind of interested in law, too.”
