Butzien indicted by grand jury

ENTERPRISE — Jay Butzien, 38, of Lostine was indicted by a grand jury in a case stemming from his arrest at his home Oct. 21. He was arraigned on the grand jury’s charges Nov. 13 in Wallowa County Circuit Court.

According to court documents, Butzien was stopped while driving and cited for driving without a license or insurance. He was later charged for manufacturing and possession of marijuana, two counts of felon in possession of firearms, six counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and six counts of recklessly endangering another person.

According to court documents, the grand jury charged him with the same counts as above and added “possession of marijuana product.”

He was held on $30,000 bail until a bond was posted and he was released. His release agreement said he is to have no contact with his children, not to drive without a license, not be in contact with drugs, have no weapons, and not enter his residence at 127 Highway 82 in Lostine for it has been condemned.

His hearing plea is set for Jan. 8.
