IMBLER — It took Imbler three plays to get on the board, and the scoring didn't stop after that.

The Panthers football team cruised to a 74-22 win against Triad in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A football playoffs Saturday.

Joe Griffin busted a 56-yard touchdown run on the third play from scrimmage.

The junior scoring became a common occurrence in the first half.

It took less than one quarter for Griffin to go over the century mark, running for 114 yards on 10 carries.

"It's win or go home," Griffin said. "We wanted to come out and set the tone early."

Griffin reeled in a 35-yard pass on the Panthers' second possession, staking Imbler to a 16-0 lead.

The Panthers finished the first quarter with 270 yards of total offense, and Griffin had five touchdowns.
