La Grande weather stays near norms

Temperatures at La Grande averaged near normal during November. According to preliminary data received by the National Weather Service in Pendleton, the average temperature was 37.8 degrees, which was 0.2 degrees below normal. High temperatures averaged 46.8 degrees, which was 0.6 degrees above normal. The highest was 59 degrees on Nov. 10. 


Low temperatures averaged 28.8 degrees, which was 1.1 degrees below normal. The lowest was 14 degrees, on Nov. 22. There were 18 days with the low temperature below 32 degrees.

Precipitation totaled 1.90 inches during November, which was 0.13 inches below normal. Measurable precipitation — at least .01 inch — was received on nine days. The heaviest, 0.45 inches, was reported on Nov. 18.

Snowfall totaled 0.1 inches. The heaviest snowfall was 0.1 inches reported on Nov. 4.

The highest wind gust was 38 mph, which occurred on Nov. 2.

The outlook for December from the Climate Prediction Center calls for near to below normal temperatures and near normal precipitation. Normal highs for 
La Grande fall from 40 degrees at the start of December to 37 degrees at the end of December. Normal lows fall from 26 degrees to 23 degrees. The 30-year normal precipitation is 1.66 inches.
