BRIEFLY: Union sets Lighted Christmas Parade

UNION — The Lighted Christmas Parade in Union will start at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with line up across from the high school. Afterward will be the Christmas tree lighting and a visit with Santa in front of the hardware store. Vendors and food will be available at 3:30 p.m. by the post office. MS self-help group meets Thursday 

The Blue Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Denny’s.  The change of day and time is for the holidays. In January, the group will be back to meeting at its regular time, at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month.

Union senior parent meeting set Thursday 

UNION — A Union High School senior parent meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Union Family Health Center conference room, not tonight as originally reported.  

The group will be finalizing plans for the fundraiser Saturday.  Any interested students or parents are invited to attend.

Book fair set for Thursday, Friday

A book fair at Grande Ronde Academy, 507B Palmer Ave., will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

Friends of Union FFA meet Thursday

UNION — Friends of Union FFA will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Union High School ag classroom

People interested in supporting the education and growth of local young people are invited to attend and find out what Friends of Union FFA can offer. 

No previous membership in FFA is necessary.

Parks commission meets Thursday 

The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Conference Room of the Parks and Recreation Department office, 2402 Cedar St. Committee training will be the primary focus of the meeting.

New Life Center Christmas Bazaar set

The 2013 Christmas Bazaar will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the New Life Center Church (next to Walmart), 10700 S. Walton Road. The bazaar will have many vendors. Also available will be handmade crafts, furniture pieces, homemade 
food items and unique gift items.

Baked goods, candy sale set Saturday

UNION — A baked goods and candy sale will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Union. 

The United Methodist Women will feature Ruby’s famous fudge along with offerings from members.
