Imbler grabs four all-state postseason awards

The Imbler volleyball season can officially be put in the books following the announcement of the Class 1A all-state team.

The Panthers, the state champions, did very well in the postseason awards following a 27-0 season. Imbler defeated Condon/Wheeler in the state title game in four sets.

Senior Malia Mills was named the Player of the Year. Junior Emma Bowers and senior Jacey Teeter were also first-team selections.

Imbler head coach Jennifer Teeter was named the Coach of the Year.

The Old Oregon League also put three other players onto the list, which is a feat because Powder Valley and Cove didn’t even make the final site this season.

The Badgers placed senior Alexandra Colton onto the all-state list as an honorable mention selection. Colton was the setter for a Badgers team that finished the year 10-13. Powder Valley didn’t make it out of the district tournament, a season removed from winning the Class 1A state championship.

Juniors Hannah and Hailey Hulse of Cove were also selected to the honorable mention team. The Leopards finished the season 12-10, and lost in the opening state play-in round to Dufur.
