County chamber warns of solicitor

ENTERPRISE — The Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce is warning members to beware of a solicitor identifying their business as travelcouncil.com.

Vicki Searles, executive director of the chamber, said in an email Thursday that members should ask a lot of questions about a business interested in selling ad spots for a Wallowa County or Northeast Oregon video.

“As many times as they have said they would send our office an email showing they were a credible business they have not,” Searles said in the email.

The chamber has gotten reports from businesses experiencing the same thing. The Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce does not endorse this advertiser based on the lack of follow-through to forward information.

Searles said the individual is not associated with the Oregon Travel Information Council or the Oregon Tourism Commission
