The Wallowa County Sheriff's Office believes they may have recovered the remains of a boater who went missing following a March 21 boating accident on the Snake River near Hells Canyon Dam.

On Wednesday the sheriff's office was notified by unknown persons on the Snake River that they had found the body of a male subject approximately 13 miles downstream from the Hells Canyon Dam boat launch, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Identification found on the remains was that of Rick M. Flores of Caldwell, Idaho. Upon further investigation, the law enforcement agency believes the body is that of Flores, who went missing when the jet boat he was allegedly operating capsized in Wild Sheep rapids approximately six miles north of Hells Canyon Dam.

The remains will be examined by the Baker County medical examiner. Next of kin has been notified, law enforcement officials said.
